Les Minquiers Seafaris
with Jersey Seafaris

A three-hour boat trip to the reefs of Les Minquiers, with Britain's most southerly buildings, a tidal sandbank, seabirds and possible seals and dolphins.
Les Minquiers lies just 9 miles south of Jersey, and Jersey Seafaris runs trips there. The area is a cluster of reefs, rocks and islets surrounded by clear water. At its heart is Maîtresse Île, home to a small collection of traditional cottages once used by fishermen and now looked after by local hut owners. These stone huts hold the title of Britain's most southerly buildings. Les Minquiers is also a designated Ramsar wetland of international importance, making it a haven for wildlife and a place of rare natural beauty.
A typical trip is split between two parts: exploring the main island of the 'Minkies' and spending time on the outer sandbank. When the tide uncovers this wide stretch of soft, white sand, visitors can paddleboard, swim, beachcomb or simply relax with a picnic.
The area is rich in birdlife, especially during breeding season, when the skies and shorelines are busy with activity. It is not uncommon for a resident seal to appear, or for a pod of dolphins to accompany the boat.
Because Jersey's tidal range is one of the largest in the world, trip times vary throughout the year. Up-to-date times and availability are on the Jersey Seafaris Seafaris Schedule.
3-hour trip: £69.99 for adults / £64.99 for children (under 16).
